About CommCare
The Community Network for Behavioral Healthcare,
Inc. (CommCare) is a regionally- based, provider-sponsored
behavioral healthcare firm that offers an array of managed
care products and employee assistance program (EAP) services.
Its target market includes private employers, health maintenance
organizations, insurance companies, and various governmental
agencies. CommCare was formed in 1995 by eight community mental
health centers (CMHCs), three substance abuse agencies (SAAs),
and an acute care state hospital.
CommCare’s network comprises nearly 1000 credentialed providers.
Programs and services range from inpatient hospitalization
to outpatient services, and include an array of wraparound
services. CommCare's method of delivering treatment is based
on a community approach, while incorporating the concepts
and principles of managed care. We strive to provide the highest
caliber of clinically sound, consumer-friendly and cost-effective
behavioral healthcare services. We customize services to meet
the needs of the payer and have particular expertise with
managing Medicaid and other vulnerable populations. The primary
advantage that CommCare has in the marketplace is that it
has the experience and the types of services that are required
to treat public sector populations.
In 1999, CommCare established a Limited Liability Corporation
with the Performance3 Group to own and operate
the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) known as Alternatives.
Currently, our EAP product serves over 400,000 members from
over 300 companies in 1500 cities nationwide. EAP services
include short term, goal oriented counseling services for
employees and their dependents; legal and financial assistance;
dependent care services; drug testing compliance; psychiatric
disability case management; critical incident/violence management;
and organizational consulting and training. These services
are delivered through face-to-face sessions, telephone consultation,
work site meetings, and online interactivity.
CommCare provides crisis services, through the Access Crisis
Intervention (ACI) system, to residents in the 25 counties
of the northwestern region of Missouri. In fiscal year 2006, there were 18,129 calls placed to CommCare’s hotline, with 3,028 face-to-face interventions.
